Drifter

I took this and another piece to the Bel Air Art Center in Rocky Mount today. I'm not sure exactly when it will be up, but I'm super excited to have the opportunity to display it in such a cool place in Rocky Mount. This September will mark 20 years since Hurricane Floyd, and this is the piece I have always wanted to paint depicting that experience. I wanted it to capture the lasting feeling of being a "drifter" that comes with suddenly losing the place you grew up and not being able to see it the way it was or take your kids there.
