Post Office in the Making

I had a question about reference photos and I thought I'd put them on here. I looked at a lot of photos of the post office before doing the drawing, so different details come from different ones. However, the two below are the ones I used most. The first is one I found online at

. The second is one I took a few weeks before I did the drawing. I took several pictures and toyed around at what angle I wanted to work from. In the end I didn't find any good vintage pics of the post office straight on, so I thought that might be a good view. 

The vintage photo helped me locate where the flag pole was before it was moved to the top of the building, showed me what kinds of lights and vegetation were in front, and gave me a glimpse of what the front doors were like. I wouldn't say I nailed all of those details, but they are what they are.
